Hi-Jinks has carefully chosen the trips published not only for their stunning experiences or locations but also for their accessibility.
From the Austrian Alps, a 90 minute hop from the UK, to Peru and a more challenging 18 hour journey, the number of connections is kept to a minimum and the transfer from airport to resort is shorter than you might expect on all trips.
The African continent allows stunning travel without the threat of jet lag. An overnight flight to Victoria Falls, for example, allows guests to arrive feeling reasonably refreshed and open eyed to the delights that await them. Where long haul is involved a "refreshment" period is considered, in Cusco – Peru, for example, a day of acclimatisation to the time and altitude change is imperative and guests are coaxed through this time with the appropriate level of care and attention. For those with sufficient stamina we have made sure that these days are not wasted, but those looking for relaxation and preparation are equally well looked after.
We recommend only the hotels and guesthouses, maybe even campsites, that we know you can depend on. The chosen few offer a level of comfort commensurate with the average corporate customers needs but are found in locations ideal for the chosen itinerary. Wherever possible the accommodation complements the local culture and scenery so that your guests feel as "involved" as possible without compromising quality. We realise that although their daytime is filled with adventure, the average guest might look for another level of hospitality in the evening and this is easily achieved in all of our destinations.
Flexible itineraries are also a key requirement, the weather, the airlines, the seasons and even your taste can have an impact on the suitability of one trip, or experience, over another. Within the boundaries of location and time, Hi-Jinks are able to tailor your trip to meet your requirements. The itineraries displayed are a guideline only.
We also have experience in, and access to, a number of other superb locations offering a choice of alternative experience. Please contact us for more information.
Hi-Jinks are able to advise on travel considerations such as immunization, packing lists, recommended reading and suitable clothing to make your trip a pleasure for all.
By definition wilderness is difficult to access. Although we only travel known routes within seasonal guidelines, it is still the wilderness and pretty much anything can happen. Hi-Jinks ensure that trips benefit from good communications including road, rail, mobile phone coverage and nearby settlement. On some trips, the Peruvian Apurimac river for example, qualified paramedics and wilderness survival experts accompany the trip.
