The Alps represent the most formidable adventure destination in Europe and benefit from being only a short flight from the UK. A one hour transfer sees the group arrive at the banks of the Upper River Inn. Successfully negotiated for the first time in only 1969, the rapids on the Inn are amongst the most best anywhere in Europe.
Back on land you just know it’s not going to end there. Whether tandem paragliding canyoning, bungee jumping, mountain biking or simply walking up hill, the Alps are like nothing else on earth.
Your trip starts with a group briefing and collection of a wet suit, buoyancy jacket and a paddle. A safety instruction talk is given and then you’re on your way. The rapids here are long and testing to mind and body, the alpine melt crashes through gorges in a tumult of white water that seems to never end. A half day on the Inn is unmatched for beauty and adrenalin in equal quantities.
The deep pools and waterfalls of steep mountain springs provide a fantastic playground with slides and jumps awaiting at every turn. Under the supervision of qualified guides you are taught the basics in rope craft and river descending very quickly.
Find a thermal and you will soar a kilometre above the valley floor within seconds of takeoff. This is flying in the Alps, it’s stunning. Strapped to the pilot a first timer can take an amazing flight amongst snow capped Alpine summits.
The steep sides of the gorge are deeply forested and hidden away from the world. The high ropes course suspended within this forest is custom made from natural materials and enjoys a commanding view of the river’s rapids below. With swings, jumps, rope bridges and tree top platforms, this self contained park represents 3 hours of intense activity.
